A Little Taste of Paris

Igor and I just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary this past January. As a gift, he insisted we take a trip to Paris. He didn't have to do much in the way of insisting. I had been mentioning taking a trip there for many years and as many know, I am an avid traveler. If you mention a place, I will be interested in traveling there. So with the mention of Paris and a little insisting, we bought tickets and packed our bags. A few things we can say to sum up Paris:

#1 If you want the BEST in the way of pastries, this is the place to go. They are second to none when it comes to their sweet treats.

#2 You have not experienced Paris unless you have sat outside (facing the road) while sipping on coffee. This is the past time of Parisians from what we saw and every restaurant had an outdoor section for that. No one faced each other, they all face the road.

#3 It is much colder and dreary than I had expected. Prepare to bring an umbrella and a coat at all times.

#4 The architecture is AMAZING! The history is DEEP! and the culture is RICH!

#5 Forget everything you learned about phonetics. Unless you know the French language, you will never figure out how to pronounce anything. Just bring a pocket guide which sometimes will show you the English pronunciation and try. They appreciate it when you at least try to speak in their own language even if you are struggling. You can point to words too but many times we found that people spoke a few words in English and it was enough to get by.
